Labor Day 2011 |

Welcome to Westmoreland Yachting Association |

Labor Day and WYA was, once again, joining in the fun at Tall Timbers. A three day weekend that included music by the 25th Hour Bank, great food, a boat burning and fire works. Of course the best part of the weekend was the camaraderie with fellow boaters, especially WYA members. Those from WYA that made the event include: Diane and Peggy, Gary and Nancy, Chris and Mary Jane, Ruth and Jean, Dick and Anita, and Phil and Carey.
Apolonia arrived first, on Wednesday, trying to find electricity after Irene. They welcomed Chris and MJ on Dauphine and Gary and Nancy with their granddaughter Summer on Summer "C," on Friday evening. |

Most of the remaining 46 guest boats arrived Saturday and the party started. Chris and MJ held the first happy hour on their boat. |

As Saturday and Sunday progressed most of the WYA members took time to at least try on some of the WYA clothing brought in by our Rear Commodore Dick Elmore. Chris and MJ had front row seats on the back of their boat as Dick modeled a few of the items.
Nancy modeled a few items as did Ruth. Phil's daughter and partner brought Phil and Carey's first grandchild to the party on Sunday. It just can't get any better.
As you can see from the pictures, we relaxed, ate, and did of lot of getting together. We all enjoyed the weekend. |

Sunday was the big day with the band starting at 4 pm, followed by a great dinner buffet, then the boat burning and fire works. Gary, Nancy and Summer are sitting down ready to tackle the buffet. I decided to watch the evening events instead of taking pictures. If you would have been there you would have enjoyed the boat burning and fire works. |
