Dog Days at Aquia Harbour was a great event. ~20 boats came to the new 150 floating slip marina to join Aquia Harbour Yacht Club for the event. | ||||||
The marina office overlooks the marina, and it is open and ready for business. The Yacht Club's club house, shown at far right, is tastefully decorated and was open all weekend. |

Friday night we joined in the hamburger and hot dog cook out, then toured the docks stopping by a host of boats to visit with the participants. Saturday morning Ruth took time to relax under her umbrella. |

Saturday morning the Yacht Club organized a walking tour of Governor's Island, where most of the sand stone came from that was used to build the Capital building. They also had a skiff available for tours around the island just off the marina. Good way to spend part of the day. |

Saturday afternoon included games, a stop by the Club House, and starting at 3 pm an all you can eat crab and shrimp feast. At 8 pm desserts and a DJ were positioned at the Community Center and we danced and visited late into the evening. My camera is not good enough to show that the community center was filled with about 100 people. |

Sunday morning we ate a great buffet breakfast at the Club House and prepared for the boat trip home. |
