2013 August 9-10 Dog Days at Aquia Harbour Marina Dog Days at Aquia Harbour Yacht Club was attended by 18 boats from various PRYCA clubs, three of those from WYA; Phil and Cary on Apolonia, Mike and Vicky Enos on Patroit, and Les and Hope on Hope II. Six hardy mates who had a good time. Friday night at the club house we had drinks and light food fair. During the day Saturday we had a good wake up breakfast, a dog parade, a crab and shrimp feast, a booze cruise around the waterways, a Saturday evening event with a band and dancing, and on Sunday a great brunch to send us off to our respective home ports. Hard to beat this event. |

Friday night had us all at the AHYC club house telling boat stories.
The AHYC put all the WYA boats together which we enjoyed. At right is
Patriot.

Here is Apolonia and Hope II.
Saturday morning's highlight was a dog parade where all the dogs won a prize. After you see the dog walking you see Savannah, Mike and Vicky's granddaughter with their dog Daisy ... and Matty trying to get in the picture.
In mid afternoon we all sat down to a crab and shrimp feast that 11 on a scale of 10.. They made us drink wine from the bottle, as our friend Bonnie found out. But sure was good wine!
After the food we climbed into some small water craft and toured the waterways around Aquia. Here you see Mike and Vicky enjoying.
And Les and Hope having a good laugh after our tour guide, Darrell Edgar, finished saying something.
We passed Randy and Barbara's boat, a 37 foot Great Harbor that they live aboard and travel on. At right we're into the evening dance and band. Couldn't get better.
During the dancing we sold old 50/50 tickets and plastic knives to capture some money as a tip for the band. It was a fun event that we all enjoyed. Sunday morning after brunch we headed out the creek.
