Tall Timbers Weekend for Labor Day

August 20 to 1 September

We thank Anita Elmore for coordinating the event and everyone who attended for being fantastic boater friends who contributed a lot to a wonderful weekend. 

Attendees included:  Dick and Anita Elmore, Phil and Carey Bolin, Gary and Nancy Vineyard, Mike and Vicky Enos, Ralph and Kris Mason, Nina Young and Jennifer Murphy, Bill and Donna Bukevicz, Tom and Kathy Carroll, Steve and Mary Ann Andrews, Pat Dates and Mike and Sandy Rowzee.  We also welcomed favored friends who joined our group, Norm and Lucinda Johnson.  The majority were there the entire weekend, but 4 boats showed up Sunday for the major part of the party.  Carey says I can't say Great Event again so I'll just say it was an amazing time.

 
  Boats arrived and parked on the fuel dock with all of us close to each other.  You see Party Time, Moon Dance and Patriot. 
  Prime Time (Bill and Donna) showed up Sunday and brought Donna's father Donald for the remainder of the weekend..  A great guy who we all enjoyed.

The other two boats here are Steve and Mary Ann's boat and Mike and Sandy Rowzee boat tied up to the community dock. They came for the boat burning and fireworks and made a night cruise home to Cole's Point after the Party.

  Here is part of the gang on Saturday as we are getting ready for a n absolutely amazing feast prepared by our members. 
  More relaxing ... Pat Dates and Norm Johnson relaxing, then we see Nancy and Ralph really laughing about something.  .  We just had a good time all weekend.

  Here is the table fixed with all those Saturday night dinner delights.  Just a few of the tastings ... Lucinda's Fried Green Tomatoes topped with fresh Crab Meat caught by Norm, Vicky's beef sliders, Carey's Salmon, and on and on.  Best meal I've had in forever!

At right is a picture of Bill and his Father-in-Law that we all got to know.  And when Bill arrived on Sunday he explained he had a half bushel of crabs to share.  We enjoyed them after the fireworks Sunday night.

  On Sunday afternoon the main party started.  Music by the 25th hour band and accompanied by a fantastic southern bar-b-que.  The crowds were starting to swell and got to at least 500 before the night ended.
  After the meal we headed to the Potomac Beach for the boat burning and fireworks.

  A good way to finish the weekend. Jennifer and Nina were the first out Monday morning, checking the waters for the rest of us. 

 
  Everybody was up Monday to cloudy skies with some weather guys saying the afternoon would be a bad windy period.  So some left early.  About half stayed, listening to the other half of the weather folks.  In the end all of us had a great trip home.  Sorry to see the weekend over.
