2014 PRYCA Change of Watch The PRYCA Bridge was installed at the Crown Plaza in Old Town Alexandria, VA with a special party. Friday night kicked off the event with a pub crawl beginning at Old Dominion Boat Club and no one knows where it stopped. We do know that most of the WYA folks were enjoying the 219 Club on the second floor to a very nice Blues Band early into Saturday morning, with our own Donna Bukevicz joining the group as a singer. Saturday we toured Alexandria and shopped ... then enjoyed dinner and dancing at the Crown Plaza intermingled with the Change of Watch Ceremony. Sunday brunch finished the event. Over 150 PRYCA boaters attended the event. Eighteen of the participants were WYA members. |

We started Friday night at the hospitality suite, saying hello to old friends. |
|||
Then, with the old friends, we headed out for the pub crawl. First stop was Old Dominion Yacht Club at the bottom of King Street.
Most of the WYA crowd had not eaten so we left for a local Old Town restaurant to have dinner. After dinner, we headed back to Old Dominion YC.
Yes, some of us finished at Old Dominion YC, with others going back on the Old Town "strip" to enjoy a Blues Band into the wee hours. We were a partying group this weekend.
The next morning we toured the town of Old Town Alexandria. Not many pictures, but we had a great time and joined each other for lunch at the Wharf Restaurant. Then back to the Crown Plaza for a nap and onto the pre-COW celebration in the Presidential Suite of the hotel. You see Carey and Donna enjoying the event and three of the guys (Bill, Phil, and Bob) ready for the dinner dance!
Here is the new Commodore, Chevy Rice and her husband Jerry along with pictures of some of the crowd at the Change of Watch Dinner.
Starting the ceremonies we have the new PRYCA Bridge Members being introduced. Here we see Bob Blunt, PRYCA VC and our WYA Commodore, with his lovely wife Norma, along with Phil Rogers the PRYCA Rear Commodore and his lovely wife Patti. The picture of Phil and Patti walking in while being introduced did not come out so I replaced it with a good picture.
And in the following pictures the rest of the WYA members who attended the events, except for Phil and Carey ... no pictures of Carey and I ... but that's ok. Here is Ruth and Jean. Ruth, the outgoing Immediate Past Commodore was also the MC for the evening events. Thank You Ruth. Next is the WYA Commodore Bill Bukevicz and his talented and lovely wife Donna.
Here we see Gary and Nancy Vineyard and Ralph and Kris Mason. Four beautiful and fun loving people.
Here are Mike and Sandra Rowzee along with Steve and Mary Ann Andrews. New members who have really made a positive contribution to the club. You ought to see Mary Ann's shoes!
The Commodore finally took off his jacket and relaxed a bit with Norma.
Looks like they are enjoying themselves.
And finally, I'll say we all performed well enough to make it to breakfast, both Saturday and Sunday morning ... with pictures to prove it. See the Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast events with our attendees. |
|||
Bottom line: we had a great time as Gary, Nancy, Mike and Sandra were
discussing. Wished more of you could have attended.
